Other than putting the bike in my hatchback, is there such a thing as a good trunk mounted bike rack to hold a carbon fiber bike?

  2. one that changes your bike into steel.

  3. You should use a fork mounted roof rack or a trailer hitch rack that supports the bike by it's wheels rather than the frame.  Anything that clamps the frame is bad news for carbon.  A trunk rack is ok as long as it has sufficient padding and doesn't scratch/stress the frame, but still not the best.  See links below.

  4. i just upgraded to a carbon fiber synapse.  i'm still using my same trunk mounted bike rack that i bought for $30 at walmart.  it works well.  when i know i'm going some place or for a short drive when i don't want to put on the rack, i just put my bike in my back seat.  it fits nicely and i don't have to worry about being rear ended.

  5. all i can say is thank God for my thule roof rack.
