Hello, I just bought 3 cockatiel's and I want to add another bird but of a different breed. What is a good bird to pair with them, that won't fight, that will get along and be happy with them?

  1. I had a budgie in with my cockatiels.  They got along very well.  The parakeet groomed the other two.  they did have altercations, but they were friends and did not want to be out of sight of one another.  the parakeet was not as intelligent as the cockatiels, which made no difference to them, but I could see the dif.

  2. a f***y flapper

  3. ~ I would never recommend housing different bird species together.  If you have 3 Tiels in one cage, that could be enough.  How big is the cage?  I would just leave the Tiels in the cage by themselves, if you want another kind of bird, get it it's own cage.

  4. It's best to keep bird species separate. There is always the risk that they will fight or that the bigger birds will prevent smaller ones from eating. They could also hurt each other by accident while playing. If you want more birds get another cage for them.

  5. Budgie or cockatiel?

    good luck xoxoxoxooxoxooxo

  6. You can put in a parakeet. I also used to have a cockatiel who was bonded with my Dusky Conure. I'd ask at a bird farm to be sure since you have 3 cockatiels and dont want them to bully a smaller bird. But I think for sure you can mix the parakeets.

  7. Hello- if you must i think that the best breed of bird for them would be a Budgie because they interact and become good friends.

  8. you can keep budgerigars, parakeets, parrots with it, but its not something ideal, better keep another cocktail

  9. Always only cage together same species for safety reasons.

Know too that if you don't know the s*x of your birds they either will be males and fight or if males and females likely fights over a female and breeding going on.

Each bird should have plenty of room to fully open their wings too.
