  1. Try the calculator: http://frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.h...

  2. around 140 centimeters seems allright for a freeride/freestyle.    but if you have ever gone snowboarding before you should get the same size board as your rental was.  and as far as which board you should buy...you should get a used one that will most likely have STRAP IN bindings on them already.  get a good name brand (forum, morrow, burton, ride, rome, etc.)  look on ebay and craigslist.  you can find one anywhere from 50-150 that will work.  And after that you can head over to a sports authority or something and try on snowboard shoes, i'm sure you can get a "soft" pair of boots for around 50 bucks.

DON'T buy new because for 200-250 dollars you will get a cheap board+bindings which won't last as long as a good older board.

  3. You should go for a board around a 147. Some good boards that would suit you are

    Burton Feather

    Salomon Lotus

    Nitro Mysitque

    Sapient Fluid

    K2 Skyla

    Ride Vista

All these boards are entry level boards so are easy to ride and learn the basics on but are also progressive enough to last you a while. As for bindings just go for an entry level set Ride, K2, Flow and Drake all make good bindings, Good luck with the riding.

  4. I'm like 5 foot one and I ride a 138 cm Ride Ruckus. I started last year and Its kind of boyish but not really. But the company Rome is really popular with the teenagers like yourself and they have great boards that look good too. Make sure it is is as tall as your upper lip area and that you like how it looks. As for bindings, I reccomend cap-toed ones because they keep your foot more secure. Good Luck!
