It depends on whether or not you mean proper antiques or if you mean collectibles. For the first I recommend Martin or Judith Millers guides to antiques and for the second their guides to collectibles.

Millers handbook is a pocket sized general guide and Millers pocket reference guides to specific things ie glass or era's ie art nouvaeu.

It is also worth checking out the shire guides to specific subjects.
