I am looking for a mystery book that I will not be able to put down. I like mysteries, history, and classic novels. Sherlock Holmes perhaps?

  1. The Skeleton in the Closet its not the best, but its the only mystery i've read in a while

  2. Agatha Christie is the queen of murder mystery and they are classics. Try murder on the orient express, evil under the sun, death comes as the end, the clocks, Murder on the links. Sherlock holmes is very famous but i havent read any of his. Im sre they would be good though. Good luck with it!

  3. Frozen fire by Tim Bowler is a good mystery. don't worry when you look at the review, its not romantic.

It starts with the phone call, late at night. The mysterious boy says he is dying. Dusty doesn't want to get involved - but the boy seems to have a link to the one person who's most important to her. Soon she has been drawn in - and now she has to deal with the other people who are looking for the boy - the violent man and his two sons, and the police too . . . Yet throughout all this, Dusty senses the presence of a boy who is not dying, a strange elusive boy who can show her what happened to her missing brother and solve the greatest mystery of her life. Where he is, who he is, why he wants to die, she cannot say. Only one thing is certain. Finding him will be dangerous.

its meant to be a young adult book i think. Very Emotional!

  4. Well sure, try Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. All the Sherlock Holmes stuff is great. You migh also want to check out Wilkie Collins, who is credited with originating the mystery genre. I'd start with The Moonstone. Agatha Christie is also well worth your time, of course.

For more contemporary traditional style mysteries that are really well done you could try a few of these authors:

    P.D. James

    Martha Grimes

    Anne Perry

    Elizabeth Peters

    Ngaio Marsh

    Reginald Hill

    John Dunning

    R. D. Wingfield

    Margaret Maron

    Laurie R KIng

I know that I'm forgetting a bunch, but this is a decent start. I hope you find some people here to enjoy.

  5. Try reading books by Agatha Christie, she wrote The Murder on the Orient Express. I read it as a classic for english and really enjoyed it

  6. well not really a mystery but a really good book its Twilight By stephenie Meyer
