I know how to play the game, so I am not looking for a beginners book. I am looking to play in tournaments and on line. I know there are tons of books out there, I want to see if people like one more than the others.

  1. i have recently bought and read Daniel Negreanu's book - Hold'em wisdom for all players. I really think this is a good book - everything is explained in 50 easy tips that will help you improving your way of playing

  2. Try Dan Harrington's tournament books.  They are great!

  3. go online to google and check, they normally have good answers....

  4. This is the best site, I wining at least $700, from nothing ($0.00)

    try this http://www.pokerstrategy.com/uV5L8J

    TITAN POKER (RECOMMENDED)

    PARTY POKER

    FULL TILT POKER

    POKER STARS

  5. Are you wanting a book for tournament play?  Cash play? Limit? NLHE?

The books are generally geared towards either cash or tournament play and for good reason, the games have totally different strategies.  For tournament play I would recommend the three volume "Harrington on Hold'em" which is probably the best compilation of information on playing in tournaments there is.  As for cash play, both of Doyle Brunson's "Super Systems" are good along with Barry Greenstien's book.  I see you are wanting to play mainly on-line tournaments, there are dozens of books about that, but the basics in Harrington's books hold true for on-line play also.  On-line play is a heck of allot looser than live play, so some advise would be to "swim up stream", ie. play the opposite of how folks are playing at your table.  I would invest in poker tracker, it really helps your on-line game.  Good luck.

  6. The best books on the market is by Doyle Brunson

    Super System 1 & 2

  7. It really depends what aspect of the game you want to learn. The best book that I've read for poker is Mike Caro's book of Poker Tells (reading other players has become a large part of my game), and think that the knowledge he gives you is absolutely invaluable.

  8. I would highly recommend Doyle Brunsons Super System of Texas Hold em(the first book).  It covers limit, no limt, tournaments, on line, stud, razz, and in depth analysis charts about poker strategy and gaming theory.

  9. One of the newest books in the Texas Hdolem market is called The Texas Holdem Dynamic Point Count Super Strategy. It has a lot of tips an advice on holdem in addition to a point count approach to the game, similar to the Goren Point count system for bridge.
