  1. BZ body boards will last a long time.  they are expensive, but if you are serious aboug having something that will last him into his teenage years, you can't go wrong.

  2. Size-wise, im sure a medium size would work.  You don't want something to terribly big, but you don't want one that you might have to be replacing in two years because of his growth.  Boogie boards last a long time and you wouldn't want to have to toss a perfectly good one...

  3. I started surfing when i was seven about six years ago. The size should be if your toes touch the end of the board and there still should be 6 inched in front of you thats for a longboard. If he like shortboards the same just about 2 inches taller than he is. it matters how tall he is and what kind of boards (longboards or shortboards).

  4. brand of bodyboards are really defined by what the user feels. I ride a NMD and love it top choice over any other board, yet people would differ.

It also depends on water temp a bit. I had a Manta which was too stiff for NZ waters in winter as they were so cold, yet they perform well In aussie waters.

Size is decided by height and weight. I am riding a 41 " board and I am 21, female, 58kgs and 172cm tall.

    The size chart on http://www.ebodyboarding.com

should be very helpful. You will find a link to it on the left panel.

  5. BZ is great....all depends on your size....40 " or so should work (assuming you're not huge) and you can actually use it for a few years.
