I've had my period for 2 years and finally decided to start using tampons.

I was afraid of getting T.S.S before.

My period is really heavy.

What is a good brand that won't leak and is easy to use?

  1. any of the ones that have the aplicator that helps you to insert. i use li lets and hat have never let me down, u can get different sizes if you are really heavy.

  2. I like Tampax Pearls.

  3. Tampax pearl are good.

  4. i my self use kotex i feel the most comfortable with them. pads and tampon's.

  5. i always used tampax... if you also use a panty liner it will hel p with leaks

  6. I use Tampax Pearl, its really good brand.

  7. I was about to ask the same question. lol

  8. My favorite are the Tampax Pearl. They really just slide right in. They have different absorbencies as well, so if you're having a heavy period, get the ones that say "super" on the front. That means they'll absorb more liquid.

You don't have to worry about getting TSS unless you never change your tampon, which is unhygienic. Change your tampon every 6 hours and you'll be fine.

  9. I like playtex sport more than the gentle glide ones

  10. I`m just like you, I was worried about TSS and leaking but after I tried a few brands and out of all the ones i tried Tampax Peral was the best. It never leaked, was comfortable, and very easy to use.

Here are the brands and absorbances I have used:

Platex Lite: leaked really fast, was a little uncomfortable, but it was easy to use.

Tampax cardboard Super: took too long to fill up, was both hard and painful to put in and take out, but you could flush the applicator.

OB tampons regular: very hard to put in, hard to take out, leaked, was messy, uncomfortable, but it was the most unoticable.

Tampax Pearl Regular: Very easy to put in, never leaked, string was thick, very comfortable, but the wrapper is noisy.

I would say for you start out using Tampax Pearl regular. if your worried about it leaking wear a pad for the first period you use a tampon, if it leaks go up an absorbancey if not stick to that one.

TSS is very, very, very rare and only happens if the tampon is in longar the 8 hours, if you are still worried wear the tampon for 6-7 hours at a time and never at night.

I myself was just as worried as you are but this website helped me out

  11. dont use tampons

  12. Tampax Pearl

  13. Tampax is a great brand.  I've tried them all but always end up going back to Tampax.  Which style you want is up to you.  There are different sizes, and they have their "Pearl" line.  You'll have to experiment a little bit.  If you've never used them before though, I'd suggest just using their "lite" size on a low flow day to get the hang of getting them in and out.

  14. I like tampax pearl ,

and I started mine about the same time as you.

I'd say get one with a plastic applicator not cardboard ,

because cardboard is less comfortable and harder to apply .

  15. pearl

  16. There's a kind called Playtex Slimfits that are designed for teens that have never used tampons.  They're slimmer so they are easier to insert.  But if your flow is REALLY heavy you may need a more absorbent one.

  17. tampax.

    thats what i started using.

  18. I like Platex gentle glide.   You can get the box that has super and regular for heavy days and not so heavy days.  I would suggest a plastic applicator at first, I feel that they go in easier.  I am 27 and I still cant get the cardboard on in there!

  19. i would get the Tampax Sport with leak protection.

    or the gentle glide.

    i like them both

  20. Hey,

Tampax pearl is good for starters and so is any tampons that are slender or teen fit.
