  1. It depends on the type of teen. If you don't know the teen personally I'd say A nice not so neon but kinda bright color ask them what their fav. color is then add a contrast like a really dark color for the ceiling or something or make every wall a different bright color and add some black strips.

  2. NEON PINK! and all the other neons.

But you should ask your teenager before listening to this teenager.

  3. Any color the teenager wants.  Sherman William web site has great color tool to review color.

Ten years ago, when my daughter was 13 she wanted to paint the ocean in her room.  We let her.  I am so glad we did.  She now has her own home, but I have never repainted her room as I still enjoying looking at that room today

  4. Better ask the teenager. My teenager painted her room black.

  5. What is the teenagers favorite thing in their room?  Their bedspread?  A cool poster collage they made with their friends?  Their favorite guitar?  A poster of Paris?  Star Wars stuff?  Do they collect something? Pick a color out of some of their favorite stuff that way it'll look awesome when they display those things on their walls!

I begged my mom for this really cool mermaid painting that was done on a nice canvas when I was like 12, we picked one of the colors that wasn't too obvious out of that painting and decorated my entire room around it!  She had a really neat streak of orangish/red in her hair, so I painted my room that color!  The rest I used more of the main colors of the mermaid painting..it was a very abstract kind of mermaid, you had to look at it for a long time, it was very busy.  I got a way neat white leather headboard (that sounds awful when i type it, but it really was neat) and I had a plum colored quilt and pillows on my bed with some of the orangish throw pillows, and I spray painted an old brass chandelier green and put some purple shades on it and hung that over my bed, it was pretty awesome!  Man...I miss that room.

Pick something they have, that they love, and use some colors from it....I always say you can't just pick a color to pick a room and decorate around it...you HAVE to pick something that's going in the room and then pick a paint color from that.  It could be fabric, art, carpet, a bedspead, anything.  But you have to start with an inspiration piece.

    happy decorating!

btw: i'm 27 now and still have that mermaid painting; now it's hanging over my fireplace and i've done my living room around it.
