I really need it to pick up dog hair in my basement. My oreck burnt up because it was just so old. I don't need anything expensive, just a relatively cheap one that seems to have good power, Any suggestions?

  1. I have Huskies, I have used cheap and expensive Vacs. I've tried the cyclonic action types and the canister vacs...they have all burned up. So last year, I went to Sears and bought this shop vac. It's small enough to carry around the house and to fit in the closet. It has wheels and storage for extras. The 5hp motor is more than enough to do the job, I use it on tile floors and carpeted floors. This thing is great. Just make sure that you keep the filter clean. It's a little loud and it obviously doesn't have a beater brush but it really does the job.

I sent you a link below so you can check it out for yourself.

  2. I have a dirt devil dynamite from walmart and it is a great little vacuum.  They have one with attachments and one without (both under $50)

  3. Consumers rated the Eureka Boss as the best in the last test reports I saw. Also the Sears Progressive model is a good vac with hepa filters.

  4. All vacuums suck.

  5. I like my Bissell Cleanview.

  6. LOL Fritz, good one.

Walmart sells cheaper ones and the Hoover works very well, and the Bissel.

    Walmart sells both brands.

I own an Elextrolux and a Kirby and never went back to the other brands.

But, in your case, go with Hoover or Bissel.
