I am making my husband a nice dinner tonight for his birthday. We have a new baby so we are on a budget. I would like to spend about $10 a bottle (give or take a few dollars). I don't know anything about wine, so if you could help me out with a good one to pair with a shrimp linguini, that would be great. Thanks!

  1. Italian food, italian wine...

you definitly want to go with a Pinot Grigio. My wife is an Italian chef and I am the resident wino,,,so please dont go with sauvingnon blanc! There are lots of Pinot Grigio's in that range from $4 to $10 per bottle. Go to liquor store and ask the people working there what they have in stock..get one from italy or california only, put a little extra garlic and a hit of cayanne pepper in the dish to spice it up,,,and put the wine in the freezer for about 45 minutes before serving to have it be extra cold

  2. Reisling

    Sauvingnon Blanc (my fave)

    Chardonnay

Go to the grocery and to the wine section.  Look for anything that is on sale.  $10 per bottle can get you a pretty decent bottle.

  3. Veramonte (check spelling) makes a great Sav. Blanc for @9.00

    It goes well with seafood.

You also may like a sweeter wine like a reisling.  Biltmore Estates has one for @11.00

Lockwood chardonay , which would be richer than the above is @ 11.00

    there's three to try!
