What is a good call out excuse?

I need to take a day off tomorrow. I work part-time at a grocery store and I go into work at 3pm. I need to fake sick or something but don't know what to say. I don't want to say something stupid that they wouldn't believe but I don't want to say something that makes it look obvious that I'm faking. What should I say?

It's a part  time, just be straight up just say  you can't come in.

my boyfriend works at publix he calls in all the time just say look i cant come in. lying is dumb haha.

we say call 'out' in California too :P

uhhhm...say you think you have a stomach flu, that way you don't have to pretend to sound sick.  and then don't do something stupid like go to the beach and come back to work with a sun tan! or go hang out at the bar or somewhere you can be seen by people you work with!

hehehe you must be from the east coast. you said "call out" down here (im in texas) we say call in. but anyway...call .... out....early and say you have food poisoning from eating chinese food or something. dont go to much into detail because they will think you are lying and dont sound peppy either. look up the symptoms of food poisoning. it isnt something that lasts a long time so you'd be able to come into work the next day so its totaly believeable.
