We have a sony now and like it ...just want to upgrade. We were looking at one that records directly to DVD but it is my understanding that will make it impossible to edit or pull out clips....

  1. if your a person that wants to edit and pull out certain clips then a camcorder that records on a hard drive might be for you

i bought the jvc everio, and i like it because its small and hold up to 7 hours in high quality mode( its not High definition)

evertime you start and stop it saves it as a new clip.

go to www.cnet.com and check out the reviews they have on camocorders. they always help me out

you can get much information in this website, stay a minute in website and check anyone link at a time, you can aslo get your answer in Google Search in this website, which has helped me alot

  3. That's actually a miss understanding. It is possible to edit and pull out clips with a camcorder that records directly on to DVD. Its just a lot more complicated. i;d say your best bet would be to look into a camcorder that records on to a hard-drive this allows you to delete unwanted footage and easily pull out footage that is important. Also with the camcorder that record es on to the hard-drive you eliminate the chance of taping over important footage. i recomend the Sony Handycam HDR-SR11 60GB Hard Drive Camcorder
