I need a 35mm. Manual or option to manual. Film, not digital. Under $175. This for a starting photography class. Exposure setting and all those specs. College class.

  1. good job u going into college. And  i hope u have good luck with that.

  2. Get a used Pentax K-1000 with 50mm lens.  Check ebay.  It's the "standard" student camera.

  3. Well, I can only throw out what my experience is.  I've found 3 35mm SLRs for less than $30 per camera at Thrift Stores.

I've found a Pentax K-1000 - it had some superficial damage, but it operates just as it should.  That one was around $9.

    I also found a Canon AE-1 for $25 with a 50mm lens in perfect shape for $25.

And just on Saturday I found a Canon A-1 for $15 with a 50mm lens.

This may not work for everyone.
