  1. Hey,

I am not sure of your budget but I can offer you some very good options for what you are trying to accomplish: Fist off, if you want to go the less expensive route you might want to check out a camera carrier made specifically for movement; my suggestion would be the Novoflex Chestpod / Shoulder Pod, its awesome for quick movement while using your camera due to its stability enhancers.

As far as cameras go, depending upon what you want to spend, the GY-X38 1/3 inch S-VHS Camcorder is by far and away your best bet and is relatively inexpensive considering the costs of most pro-camera gear - expect to pay about $1500.

A less expensive but extremely high quality camera that has the features you are looking for is the, Sony DCR-SR65E ($600) This is an awesome machine and if you couple it with the chestpod you're moving.

    Good luck bro,

  2. you'll hafta decide if you want 2nd hand or new - either way shop around - ebay, shopbot.com.au, other 2nd hand and new dealers. make sure you bid on PAL if in aus or europe or NTSC if in north america

i'd recommend any of these from personal use. these are all medium sized prosumer with handle grip, improved audio recording, full range of manual settings...

for a sweet new one, you're looking at around $3000 for these:

    sony hvr a1p (HD)

    sony dcr vx2000 (SD)

    sony fx1 (HD)

    panasonic dvx100 (SD, progressive recording)

    canon xm2/gl2 (

you can grab these second hand ones for around $1500

    sony vx1000

    sony pd150

    canon xm1/gl1

google model.pdf and model manual.pdf (eg hvr a1p.pdf) to get the manuals and specs

get a specialised wide angle converter (0.3x-0.5x)

consider gettin a cam with the XLR mics

of course you got the prosumer cams that are up around the $5k and above mark...

    got the picture

    cheers
