What is a good camera that will last and hold lots of pictures?

I am going to costa rica for 3 months i am staying at an american school but i need a good camera that will last and hold lots of pictueres dose any one have any ideas

If you take care of it, then any camera will do. What kind of camera are you looking for? Point and shoot or DSLR? If you want a point and shoot then the Canon Powershot SD1100IS is a good choice. If you want a DSLR then the Canon Rebel XSi is a good choice. Also buy a good size memory card (2 to 4 GB is good enough for me)... that determines how many pics the camera will hold.

Most cameras will last longer than 3months. So not a problem dude, just get the one that you fancy.

Hold lots of pictures depends on the memory card you get. They are so cheap now, you can get a couple of 4G or 8G. That'll arm you with a few thousand photos and a bit of video clips.

pretty much any decent point and shoot on the market will do the trick - most of them are compatible with high capacity memory cards.

The memory card determines how many pictures you'll be able to take without swapping it out, and these days it's relatively easy to get cards that will hold 2g, 4g, 8g... that translates into thousands of photos, depending on your camera settings.

You may also want to get several 1 or 2g cards and swap them out when they're full; I have several friends that do that.

Don't forget All cameras are very delicate. Buy a memory card that's more memory than you think you may need. 4GB or 2GB is fine.
