What is a good car, for a first time driver?

Me and my friend were wondering what car to get when we get old enough. So what's a good, reasonably priced car?

I would say an older Honda Civic or something like that. I've heard of some having 300,000 miles and still run good and they get real good gas milage. The only draw-back is parts can be expensive if something does go wrong. But it's good to get a used one, because if there were any problems, that they've already been taken care of. And this is coming from a true-blue Chevy guy.. Good luck!!

honda, toyota or nissan is they way to go, all these makes are super reliable, good gas mileage and have a good resale value. i agree with chad F to a certain extent, honda toyota and nissan parts are not expensive they are actually pretty cheap good luck.
