  1. Renault scenic, 5 star ncap, safety for you and your child is paramount and depending witch model you buy also very economical also depends will you be on the motorway alot or in cities and towns more ?

  2. Safety is paramount for you and your baby. Subarus are safe cars but they are not reliable. They're in the bottom 5 of JD Powers ratings for dependability. Far too many problems that require a lot of down time in the shop. Same with VW. They make very safe cars but you can't depend on them to always get you to point B.

A certified used Audi with quattro is your best bet. They're built like tanks, very good on gas (87 or 89 octane) and quattro is the safest of any all wheel drive system available today. And the certified warranty means it went through a 300+ point inspection. More than double any of its competitors. And you get complete factory warranty coverage for 6 years or 100,000 miles from the day the car was first sold.

A two year old Audi A 4 with 30,000 miles still has 4 years or 70,000 miles left on the warranty. Quattro is the best all wheel drive system made. And no other car is built as solidly as an Audi. Just try bending the hood on one. Or put all your weight on any door that's open. The door will not sag or bend. And the hood won't buckle or bend either.

I'm a Nissan sales manager. I own an Audi A6 with quattro and my wife has a Q7. I also have a Nissan company car. Any time it rains or snows, or if we're taking a trip, we use our Audis.

  3. Whatever car you decide on, go to

    http://www.safercar.gov

This is a US DOT website. It provides Safety Ratings on pretty much all the cars sold in the North American Market.

Please note that on some of the cars, the Safety features like Side Curtain airbags may be optional. So you will have to price them WITH such options. Others have thorax airbags in addition to the Side Curtain airbags.

From Gas efficiency point of view, best cars are the Compact cars like Hyundai Accent or Honda Fit. The problem with these cars is that, its hard to get a rear facing car seat inside. You could provided you take the driver or passenger seat way up front. Point is you want car at least one size up.

Best family cars are the Intermediate Size or full size cars. Don't go for a SUV or minivan just yet. You want ease of putting the Car seat in and out. With a SUV you will have to Pick it high above ground. A minivan isn't worth it unless you have a family of 5. Besides they look ugly.

So given all this, what am I recommending ? Here's my list.

    Pontiac Vibe / Toyota Matrix

    Chevy Malibu

    Mazda 6

    Toyota Corolla

    Honda Civic.

Good Luck! Congratulations in advance for the baby!

  4. any subaru. they have all wheel drive which is better for the winter and they are five-star crash test rated. my mom traded in her chevy suburban for a subaru outback because it was safer than her suburban

  5. go to youtube and type "crash test car"  it will shock you what you watch and surprise you just how strong some little cars are.

but the new VW Golf i would say are a good safe car to be in,if the worse happend and you was in a crash

    regards x kitti x

  6. a subaru

  7. Subaru, hatchback style is good for strollers and baby bags, etc.
