I have thought about Pontiac Sunfire, or Chevy Cavalier. I just need it to be reliable and cheap on gas. Thanks

  1. I have a 2003 Cavalier and it has been both reliable and cheap on gas.  If you get a Cavalier or Sunfire, the 2.2L Ecotec engine is the best.  2001 and earlier models used an outdated engine that got about the same gas mileage, but was much noisier and had much less horsepower.  Ford Focus and Hyundai Accent would also be worth checking out.  Hondas and Toyotas would be better, but also much more expensive.

  2. For that price you should be able to get a good condition Acura or Honda from 2000-2002.

Less maintenance and good gas mileage

  3. when i saw this question i went to my friends house and asked him this he has 8 cars out of all the 8 he said the ones that are $5000-$8000 low on gas are very old cars like the 2001 mini cooper and the 1955 chevy bel air 1997 ford f 150 and ford gt 1990(ford gt high on gas) and some of them he bought used well i hope i helped.

  4. You can get a cavalier for that price with low miles. The smartest thing to do is to look for one with the lowest miles for the lowest dollar. So dont jump into the first one in your budget, besure that you cant get the same car from somewhere else with less miles on it for the same price or cheaper. Good luck.
