Oh oh! How about the St Johns Ambulance (UK)? - where you gain basic medical skills and attend country shows etc to be in the first aid area?

You both learn valuable life skills and can be doing something to be very proud of!, I would love to do this but have small children.

Planned Parenthood- start getting her educated on Women's rights!

Make a Wish foundation- let her help children like her who are sick

Local Domestic Violence Shelters- great for the kids in those shelters to have another kid to hang out with and just be a normal kid with.

Habitat for Humanity- do a big project like help build a house then later in life you can drive by and look at your hard work

Political Work- start educating her on the importance of voting has a woman and get her out there learning and working on changing to world

and standing up for things she believes in.

An animal rescue group would be fulfilling volunteer work for both of you.  Reading to the elderly is another good cause that many don't really think about.
