  1. If you really care. Gift card, dinner and a movie on you, just the two of you.

  2. A bird, all old people love birds I assume.

  3. My grandma also "seems to have everything" she wants, so we usually just donate a book to the library in her name for her birthday.

  4. You could give her something she can use up:

    nice soap

    hand lotion

something she likes to eat or drink

    chocolates

    bottle of wine

    a movie voucher

a ticket to a show (or better still, two tickets so she isn't going alone)

You can get really nice gift cards from charities like Oxfam. You get a card with a picture of a goat on it, and you pay say $30 for the card. It means that you are giving your aunt a picture of a goat, but someone in a majority world country is getting a real live goat because of your donation.

Does she like animals? Maybe you could sponsor a small animal at a local zoo in her name.

If she likes puzzles, you could get her a whole stack of her favourite puzzle books from the newsagents: crosswords and sudukus and word finders. Package them all up with pens, pencils, erasers, etc. Or even get her a subscription from Lovatts or one of the other puzzle book companies.

Or you can get her books or second hand jigsaw puzzles from the op shop. Your dollar will go a lot further there.

  5. You could make her a scrapbook with memories from her past in it. That way it will be worth more sentimental value than money but she'd appreciate it. You could include a voucher with the remaining money you would've spent on her as well.

  6. according to my mother she has everything she should need and if we get her anything it just collects dust... how nice that the 150 dollar computerized picture frame i bought her is still in the box... good grief... but i guarantee a gift certificate to her favorite grocery store would be well appreciated...take her out to lunch.. that is something she would love also.. good luck and enjoy your elders.. one day you will become one...

  7. How about a nice sudoku or crossword puzzle book? That would help keep her mind sharp. You could also try to find out what her favorite book is and then get a nice copy. Or buy her a nice ornament, like the president collection one. I would personally at that age if I had everything appreciate my favorite dessert homemade, which would not only be simple and sweet but a nice gesture showing that you took time to make it. Another idea is like a gift certificate for a mani/pedi at the local spa. Good luck!

  8. How about a jigsaw puzzle? They are quite affordable and you can work them alone or with a friend. They keep your brain in shape and improve skills in problem solving, dimensional thinking, logic and of patience. 9. Get her a pretty fine gauge knit cardigan sweater.  That way if she gets a little cold she can put it on and not get too warm.  I think a light yellow one with pretty pearl buttons would be perfect.

  10. you could make a donation in her name to her favorite charity or you could get her a gift certificate to her favorite place to eat or maybe to a place like rite aid or walgreens or walmart where she could get personal care items or use it towards a prescription or also some place like bath and body where she could get lotion and shower gel
