  1. The best protectant to use on a PVC inflatable is 303 Aerospace Protectant. It provides UV protection and helps to keep the PVC soft. As for cleaning .... use a mild detergent and reapply the 303. If the PVC becomes sun-damaged and sticky, you can use Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone to clean as a last resort. Since the boat is PVC, it is susceptible to sun damage. Store it inside or keep it covered.

  2. Before storage and after a season of use,

I would use a regular household cleaner,

one that removes dirt and mold.

After rinsing with water and drying it completely, totally dry is the key, it should  be like new.

The sun UV makes the plastic weak, so yeah rubbing it down with a vinyl preservative before storage is a good idea.

  3. Since its brand new...  i would go ahead and buy stuff actually made for cleaning protecting it...

I use Island girl   cleaners and protectants  found they last longer than the 303,  little more expensive but since I have a few thousand dollars hyperlon i think its worth it.

  4. As a professional this is what I use:

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/Ribshine-Hyplon-PVC-R...

But use sparingly, even the kindest detergents can damage PVC and Hyplon with constant use.I would not clean them more than twice a year.

UV causes the most damage of all. When not in use keep out of the sun and deflate the tubes to 80% capacity to keep the pressure off of the the seams and valves

  5. I would wash it with fresh water (not ocean water)

any cleaner can potentially react and hurt the PVC

if anything I would use a liquid dish soap, but make sure to rinse it really well

  6. jewelrs rouge, you can buy it at any truck stop truckers use it on fiberglass to preserve and shine it comes in a stick just stick your buffer up to it then buff you boat.
