  1. I do not know about Richmond, however I am a new agent in Louisville KY with Met Life. Pay is good with a guaranteed rate over the first six months while I build my financial planning practice. Training is top quality. Strong public company that will assist and back the new rep instead of just letting them figure it out on their own.

  2. Try being an independent broker check out http://www.naawashington.com . If interested in finding out how you can spend 90% selling and only 10% prospecting instead of the industries reversed %. Feel free to contact me for info on NAA.

  3. I was in your situation exactly 1 year ago.  Northwestern Mutual is the best.  Here's why:

#1 company to sell for according to 'Selling Power' magazine.

        * Northwestern Mutual is the largest direct provider of life insurance.

        * Northwestern Mutual pays more in total individual life insurance dividends to policyowners than any other company in the industry.

        * Northwestern Mutual consistently earns the highest possible financial strength ratings from the four major financial ratings services.

        * Customers give us the highest satisfaction score among U.S. life insurers, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index survey.

        * In 2008, for the 25th time in as many years, Fortune® magazine recognized Northwestern Mutual as America's "Most Admired" company in our category.

        * Northwestern Mutual has a persistency rate of 96.4% for life insurance in-force, a key indicator of customer satisfaction.

The best part is that you never have to wonder if your clients could get a better deal or better treatment somewhere else.  This is a great company to work for.  They take great care of their agents and their clients.  I've enjoyed it for the past year and I'm looking forward to many future years.
