What is a good color for a wedding in August? ?

Im having an August wedding but can not figure out the colors I want. Im not a girly girl and I dont even really want to plan this thing. We are just having a small wedding, but will still have 4 bridesmaids.

Any ideas would be great! I dont like pinks...

my friend just got married and her bridesmaid were wearing brown and it looked really nice :) it has white buttons down the back and looked amazing in the pictures because everything else is so bright and green in the summer! i wish i could plan my wedding again haha have fun with it and for ideas check out this site http://www.myweddingfavors.com/ it'll be a life saver!! :) good luck and congrats!!

August is tough... you can push fall and do oranges and reds, or push summer and do lighter colors. Alot depends on where you are getting married too. I really wanted to do chocolate brown and pink, but we are getting married in a lodge and the brown just wasnt gonna work  with the woodwork.  My fiance made it easy... he pointed out a pink he liked(peony) and i went from there. we both like blue, so we picked periwinkle... and i tossed in a butter yellow too.

We're getting married next august.....

I had an August wedding a few weeks ago. My colors where lavender, platinum, and cream. If your not into pink,purples,etc.. there are yellows,greens, my favorite is cobalt blue, or cornflower blue. Also periwinkle is a good color to.

I agree with the first poster. A burnt orange would be nice, or maybe a tangerine and cream?

Brown is a great color all year around. But because it will still technically be summer, you can combine it with either a pale pink, turquoise or lime green.

Those color combinations are so hot right now.

Or, you could do something that I saw that was absolutely spectacular.  You could have a white and platinum wedding but wear an ivory/off white gown.

I went to a reception where all of the linens were white with platinum/silver accents..chargers, napkin rings floating candles vases and candelabras. The bride wore an ivory dress and it was absolutely gorgeous.

Are you in Northern Hemisphere? If so, then as it is summer, well how hot will it be in your area at the time of the wedding?

Some excellent colour ideas;

1. Mint Green, make it your theme with delicious mint & strawberry cocktails on the lawn. Mint chocolates for bonbonniere. Lots of Green.

2. Blood Red, obvious and traditional

3. Azure Blue, especially great if you are nearby the ocean and have a nautical water theme.
