My family wants to book a cruise for next June, and I'm wondering which cruiseline has good entertainment for teens, whether it's the actual teen program, or just other fun things to do.

  1. I would go onto cruisecritic.com and talk to some teens who have gone on the cruise you are thinking of.  Ask them what they think. did they have a good time ?  then talk to you parents about what they said.  Good luck and have fun.

  2. royal caribbean is the best in my opinion for teens but it really all comes down to the boat and when you go if there are going to be alot of teens

  3. Princess Cruises has been the best for me.  They had an amazing teen center on the Grand Princess a few years ago when I went.

  4. I went on 2 cruises when I was 16. One to the Eastern Caribbean and one to the Mexican Riviera. Carnival and Princess cruises both have great teen programs. Always lots of activities going on!

  5. Royal Caribbean, if you are on Freedom, Liberty, Independence, Navigator, or Mariner, hands down. these 5 ships blow everything away.

Otherwise, the newer ships are all pretty similar on every mainstream line. the older pre-megaships won't have much at all.

  6. Carnival Cruise Line is a good ship and it tends to have a younger crowd.

Royal Caribbean is also not too bad for teenagers.

Carnival would be my first choice though

  7. Carnival and Royal Caribbean both have good teen programs.

Carnival has the Club O2 ...

15 - 17 year olds have a place all their own as well, it's called Club 0 2. This program, like Camp Carnival, was created for these older teens it was designed and dedicated to our guests in the specific age groups. The older teens get a chance to show off during a Karaoke session, pool parties, late night dances, outdoor sporting events like basketball and ping pong.

Many of our ships feature lounges which are dedicated to both age groups.  Some of these lounges feature video monitors with Playstation 2 or X-Boxes, as well as comfortable seating. High energy dance floors with state of the art lighting and sound have also become a mainstay in many of our "Teen Only" lounges.

All the Carnival ships have a water slide (none of the Royal Caribbean ships do).  The Carnival Freedom and the Carnival Liberty (and starting in June 2008 the Carnival Splendor) all have a huge outdoor movie screen.  None of the Royal Caribbean  ships have this.

Royal Caribbean has the Living room and Fuel.  The Living room is a place for teens to hang out with other teens (no little kids and no adults).  Fuel is a teen disco with a soft drink bar.

Our teen program isn't some structured set of classes or rules. We know you're almost an adult, and it's your vacation too. So we give you the freedom you deserve. You can join events all day, or come and go as you want. And we have two great places where you can get away from it all. The Living Room is a laid-back place you can just hang with your new friends. And Fuel is the place where the party is. Open 'til 2 a.m., you can dance, listen to music, or just hang out there.

    Hours:

Activities are scheduled throughout the day and early evening. The Teen Center is open from 10:30 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. each evening. Teens are welcome to come and hang out and join in activities, make new friends, and dance or just listen to music.

    Activities Include:

    Teen-Only Nightclub

    Battle of the Sexes

    Coffee Talk

    Dancing Under the Stars

    Backstage Tour

    Open Mic

    Club Cafe

    Karaoke

    Pool Party

    Mix and Mingle

    Sports Tournaments

Teen Skating (on Voyager & Freedom Family of ships)

    Scavenger Hunts

    Teen Dinners

    Video Game Challenge

    Movie Night

All the Royal Caribbean ships have a rock climbing wall (none of the Carnival ships have a rock climbing wall).  Also, the two newest Voyager Class ships (the Mariner and Navigator of the Seas) and the three Freedom class ships (the Freedom, Liberty and Independence of the Seas) all have an expanded teen area (larger than the teen area on the three older Voyager class ships).

All the Carnival and Royal Caribbean ships have a video arcade and a pool(s).

I think you would have fun on either cruise line.

  9. Royal Carribean doesnt have as much teen programs, they just have more random things to do. Where as Carnival has random things to do, but they also have teen programs and activities planned.

  10. Carnival is the party ship for young people.  Royal Caribbean has arcades, tons of pool activities and an awesome rock wall!
