  1. Carnival will be the least expensive. We took our 11  and 17 year old 18 months ago and they had an awsome time. With air we didnt pay near 3K. Disney will cost a lot more (we looked into them also)

  2. I would definitely say Carnival. They are known as the fun ships, and they are way cheap. They have lots of cruises going out of Galveston, and I would then decide how long you want to go for. If this is your first time I would definitely recommend a 5 day cruise as it will save your budget and if you dont like it your not stuck on the ship for a week. Anyhow, I would do some research, and I would say check out sidestep, travelocity, expedia, and other travel sites and compare cruises and their prices. Then I would call the cruise line directly and tell them what prices you found and see if they can beat it. They definitely want your business and they will do almost anything to get you to book with them. Good luck. If you have any more questions just ask.

  3. We have taken our kids on Carnival and on Royal, our two kids (ages 14 and 12, girls) loved Carnival.  There is more to do on the Royal cruises (ice skating, rock climbing wall, etc...) however they enjoyed the teen club much more on Carnival.  If you looking to spend family time Royal has more to offer as a family.  If you are wanting to let the kids have some freedom and the parents have some freedom and still have family time Carnival is a good choice.  You should be able to get either of them within your budget.  You can get them pretty cheap depending on when your going.  There is great shopping and things to do at all of the ports they go to.

  4. try Royal

  5. Carnival, Norwegian, Disney

this website http://www.LouMarTravel.com is offering up to 75% off selected cruises. They also have deals on up to two category upgrades. have fun cruising

  6. If you are going to limit yourself to Galveston, then your choices are:

Carnival Ecstasy which offers four and five night cruises year round.

Carnival Conquest which offers one week cruises year round.

Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas which offers one week cruises December through April.

Fortunately both Carnival and Royal Caribbean are family friendly and both have good children's and teen programs.

Both the Voyager and the Conquest go to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.  Cost is some what dependent on when you go.

Choose an unpopular time and you can get all four of you in an ocean view cabin on the Voyager of the Seas (it will be a tight fit, but it can be done) within your budget.  Go at a more popular time and you will need to book an inside cabin (no windows).  The Voyager is a big ship, and offers ice skating, inline skating, rock climbing, two pools for the kids plus an adults pool and miniature golf.

The Carnival Conquest is not as big, and doesn't have an ice rink, inline skating or a rock wall.  But it does have the pools and something the Voyager does not have - a water slide.  Carnival costs less.  So if you go at an unpopular time you can get a balcony cabin within your budget.  Go at a more popular time and you can still get an ocean view cabin.

The four night Carnival Ecstasy goes to Cozumel, Mexico.  The five night cruises go to Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico.  Go during an unpopular time and you can get a suite on the Ecstasy.  Otherwise you can get an ocean view cabin.  The Ecstasy has the pools and water slide also, but is smaller than the Conquest and is about 11 years older.

Currently these are your only choices out of Galveston.  Choose the one you like and enjoy.
