What is a good defensive playcall to stop screens?

i played a guy in ncaa football 09 and he kept on doing screens like five times a game. i didnt know ho to stop it. how can i stop it?

  1. put two cbs on the side of the field that looks like he is going to screen it to

    and also shift the linebackers to that side


  2. you just have to recognize when the linemen are letting you go free and instead of trying for the sack cover the screen kind of tricky most of the time i realize it too late but that's how i stop screen plays

  3. its hard to stop.. you can assign a LB to spy after you line for the play. The LB that you choose to spy wont drop back into coverage nor rush the line. They will just hang the middle of the field watching the QB.  

  4. play a shallow cover 4 and crowd the line, they won't go anywhere

  5. a wide side corner blitz will shut down a screen

  6. Try man flats with the either the linebackers or the corners that will keep them on the line of scrimmage but in zone coverage. That might help but it's a game of trial and error you have to find out for yourself.
