My daughter will be 17 months old when my son is born. I recently read what I thought was a good idea .... have a doll ready for my daughter when she comes to meet her brother. That way, she'll have a baby to take care of as well. My question is whether anyone has any recommendation for a good type of doll for this situation and/or for a child of this age. Thanks for any suggestions!!

  1. Well, i wouldn't buy anything 2 small, so the baby doesn't choke, but nothing too big so the baby doesn't find it intimidating. I recommend one of the dolls called Little Americas. They are pretty small but none of their body parts can be bitten off. its hard to find a baby doll of them, but it is possible.

They're usually sold at Babies'R'Us and SOMETIMES they have them at Zellers.

    Hope i Helped!

  2. I would recommendthe berenguer line of dolls. They are all vinyl and offer a wide range of sizes for your little girl.Good luck on the new baby!

  3. Try Fisher Price's Little Mommy newborn dolls. For children 18 months and up they are small easy to handle but realistic looking baby dolls for younger kids. They are available in Singles or Twins. Sweet As Me from Little Mommy are also in the appropriate age group however these dolls look more like toddlers than babies.

If you want something even younger you can try Playskools Busy Basics Lil Babies which are small soft little babies with different baby stimulus inside (rattles, squeakers, textures) they are good from Birth and Up.

Or for something a little different Glo Worms also fit your need again from Playskool and from Birth and up
