Classic film noir which is my personal favorite.  As many people have stated Double Idemnity is a great film but there are many amazing films for the golden age of noir: The Maltese Falcon, The Asphalt Jungle, and Gilda.  I personally like Touch of Evil and Double Idemnity if I had to pick 2 classics.

Double Indemnity is often considered one of the pinnacles of the genre - it has almost all of the stereotypes of the genre, and is a great piece of filmmaking.

You can also try the Maltese Falcon - one of the more famous film noir movies.

My personal favorite though is the Third Man.  Great, great movie.
