What is a good first car?

My 16 birthday is in 2 weeks and i have been givin a 3000 dollar limit for a car...... So what would be a good car that i could get with that amount of money?!?

well i'd say a used care that isn't a ford. theres too many problems with them so i'd stay away from that manufactoror. dont get a gas hog either... $4.00 for gas is unbelievable..ha.

I say a small used car that gets sood mileage. to get a good one cheap, it will have to have a lot of miles on it. that is not usually an issue for a first car.

1996 up saturn sl series meaning sl1 or sl2. they average 25 to 40 mpg are sporty,very safe with 5 out of 5 crash test rating, and a 5 out of 5 reliability from msn and the best part is they are very inexpensive to fix

A lot of people dont realize this but you get get a really nice luxury car, that does not have a terrific amount of miles on it for really cheap, because most of the people that purchase them get a new car every few years and no one else wants them because they are used.  So you could end up with a really well built vehicle for the price of a newer used, say a 04' chevy cavalier.  I'd try to find like a 96' cadillac catera,  with 100,000 miles on it.   Its a nice sporty car that is really well built and uses GM parts so getting new parts would be just as cheap as any other car.  I got a 93' lincoln for my first car and it worked awesome for what i needed it for.
