  1. If you are referring to motor boats and not sail boats, I would suggest buying a used "runabout".  A boat you could use for skiing or spending the day on the water.  They are available with bow seating to give you more room to spread out your passengers.  A rock solid brand I had great luck with is Crownline.  You could find an 18' to 20' used, for 10k to 14k that would have low hours and be in good shape.  A v-6 or v-8 I/O drivetrain is optimal for these type boats.  Good luck!

  2. Hello!

Before buying a boat determine your boating interests. Are you into commercial or sport fishing, do you do wakeboarding or waterskiing? Would you prefer a motor yacht or a sail inspires you with its everlasting romance? Whether you want to live aboard or just go sailing for the weekend? Will you take part in cruises or boat races? Do you know how to handle a boat and ABCs of navigation? Is it necessary that you attend boating courses?

  3. I'd recommend a pontoon boat, they're good for all around use. But keep in mind they're not built for speed so if you want to go fast this is not the way to go. Brand new four stroke pontoons cost around 20k. But go used, there's plenty out there. Price ranging from 20k and lower depending on age and condition.
