What is a good for a free saftey in football wanting to play at BYU?

i just turned 15 and going to be a sophmore. I am 5'9" 178 pounds saftey. I can bench 245 and squat 355 and run a 4.8 40 yrd dash. I want to play for Byu. About where do i have to be in the bench squat and forty by my senior year to have a chance to play for BYU? THANKS

  1. for a 15 year old sophmore, benching 245 and squating 355 is good. especially if you dont work out much as you claim you dont. schools will start looking at you you your soph and junior seasons which means your goal should be, so dont wait until your senior season to really step it up and improve your maxes and your speed.

    try to get your dash down to 4.6-4.65 which shouldnt be too hard. if you really improve your squat your dash time will go down as well.  a good squat for a safety is close to 500 pounds, and a good bench is about 325-350 pounds.

    make a high light tape and send it to byu after the season, thatll be a way you can make sure theyve heard about it. and also register for the ncaa clearing house cause they cant recruit you or contact you until you are cleared by the ncaa clearing house.


  2. ok ur bench and 40 dont mean anything if u dont have a good tape. Thats what you should focus on. Yes get faster stronger quicker and everything but remember don't workout like a bodybuilder. Cause you will play like one and that will mean a sucky game tape.
