What is a good four year degree?

I'm a freshman in college majoring in psychology. I really don't want to go to school for more than four years. what is a really useful four year degree? And can I do anythingwith a four year psych degree?

Well, you can do any bachelor degree in 4 years so  your options are pretty open.  Business is a good, well-rounded degree (more specifically, technology is booming right now).  Nursing is also a great route b/c they are in high demand, flexible hours, and paid well.

No, you can't do anything w/ a psy degree (ie, no surgery on dying patients w/ a psy degree, right?) but most people go on for a masters in psy b/c you can't do much in the field of psy w/out one.  I know a lot of people who get a BA in psy and they end up working in an office environment.  Those who go on for a masters are interested in becoming counselors, psychologist, researchers, professors, etc.

You'll have to ask yourself what you really want to do w/ your life and then make a decision.  Good luck!

If you plan on finishing after 4 years, you could consider doing a double or joint major or minor with another program. Business may be a good choice as others suggested. But do you like math by any chance? If so you could combine psychology with statistics - much of psychology is about doing surveys and analyzing survey data and most likely you'd have to take a stats course anyway.

The thing is that, doing psychology for 4 years is not exactly a great idea. If you know anyone who has a 4 yr degree in psychology degree and making enough money for themselves, I suggest asking them. But, in my personal opinion, I suggest completing a 4-year psych degree and then going on into a masters or a P.h.D.

I suggest doing that because you'll have more options in achieving a great career. However, if money is a problem, do a 4 year psych degree and then complete a P.h.D degree later. A lot of my friends completed a psychology degree and then went back to school a few years later to complete a higher degree.
