We bought an antique high chair...not for collecting but for our baby to be. Trouble is it has a very creepy clown on it and some sort of wood stain that is in bad shape.

Is there something gentle that will remove both the paint & the stain but not hard the wood?

  1. go to your local paint store get a spray can paint remover ..then use stiff brush to brush off old paint when treated w/ said paint remover ...make sure wear proper gloves and protective clothing ..

  2. A good remover is a product called Goof Off.   Apply a light coating, dab or rub lightly it should start working soon.  Go for one layer at a time. Once down to wood, oil the wood and apply wax.    Another technique is to use a piece of glass and pull it at angle against the paint to be removed.  Any glass will do but lab specimen glass is strong and easy to work with.

  3. Paint stripper.
