When my youngest was 1 she loved the baby einstein movies or anything bright in colors and made noises. She also loved anything for the bath since bath time was so fun at that age. Good Luck

Any type of toy that is safe and will help them develop their motor skills like soft colorful building blocks.  Lots of them will have age appropriate labeling.  Or a book that has touchy / feely things.  There is a hard page book that stores such as Target or Babies R Us carries that has animals in it with little cuttouts that have either wool for a lamb, or fur for a dog that the child can touch and associate with.  Nothing too complicated at that age.  Hope that helps!
