What is a good gift for a 4-year-old girl's birthday?

My daughter is turning 4 next week. I don't have a clue what to get her and she can't really tell me anything. She likes the disney princesses, puppies, craft-type stuff (coloring, making things, etc). It can't be too expensive. Any specific gifts would be great!!!

Princess, Barbie, dress-up clothes, play make up. Those are all things that 3-4 yearolds like!! I have a 3 year old soon to be 4, and she loves make-up and clothes!! These things are her favorites.

My daughter turned 4 in January.  Check your local Target, they were having a LOT of toys on clearance last week. I got my daughter the Leapster & some games.... They were on sale for half off.... But for her birthday I took my daughter to Build-a-Bear.... I just regulate her on what she can get, I spent about $30.00 included the outfit.

buy her a book on sale, coloring book, crayons, play doh, dress up jewelry and clothes, a few a cheap crafts or craft items from wal mart or a local craft store... stickers are fun!

You say she likes Disney Princesses and craft-type stuff. Well she told you right there, you already know what she likes so find her a Disney Princesses coloring book and crayons. Even those small toys, I got my five year old niece a littlest pet. It only cost $5 and it had a animal and a couple of other things look for whatever she likes that is on sale.

Get a back pack ( which should be on sale this time of year) and let her decorate it the way she wants.  This can be her "go" bag, that she can put things in when ever you go somewhere.  

Also anything in CRAYOLA'S Color Wonder line is AWESOME. It's made to color only on special paper, so no messes to clean up.

little girls like barbies, chalk, glitter glue, and stuff like that. i got my best friends little sister and sit n' bounce and some barbie clothes for her barbies and all together it was like only like $10.00! hope i helped!! :)

If she likes The Little Mermaid, there is a new one coming out on 8-26-08.  My daughter is 3 1/2 & is screaming for it already.  Mine also loves anything to do with My Little Pony, Carebears & Mermaids.

A kitty, she'll freak out but in a good way. Put him in a little box and when your daughter opens it up, BOOM a little kitty.

Or if she likes puppies do the same thing but with a puppy lol.

Go to Target and get her a pad of "color wonder" paper.  Then pick out "color wonder" markers, paints, finger paints, etc.  What's great about the "color wonder" products, is that they ONLY work on the special "color wonder" paper, so you can set her up, and go do stuff around the house without worrying.  If she finger paints the whole darned hall way, it's invisible, so it doesn't matter!  Great stuff- my 4 year old keeps herself busy for HOURS with it!
