Who just received his MBA, is leaving for a new job, and is in his late 30s. He is married with 2 kids, so he is a family man.

I want to get him something professional in nature, but not sure what.

  1. Nice handmade portraits or paintings made from photos are always a good gift idea. You can find more such ideas at http://www.paintyourlife.com

They make all types of personalized and unique portraits on oil, pencil, charcoal, etc.

They also do wonderful photo-printing on canvas in different designs. Please take a look at http://www.photo-print-on-canvas.com for more information.

  2. get him a nice money clip from a jewelry or gift store.  if you know him well go to somewhere like tiffany...if not then there are cute ~$40 ones at placces like coach and i think lacoste.

  3. A book

  4. I've experienced this many times with well liked and not so liked co-workers.Be certain about what he likes.Ask other co-workers if they would like to get involved.Don't go into your own pocket too deep.Let others pitch in.Sometimes going away is best remembered as a group.Take pictures, have a lunch party! If you want it one on one, then you may have to dig a little deeper.Include the wife.Best ideas of what he really likes or things to do.Overall, make it fun, take some pics, and have some memories.Good Luck.

  5. I think a going away dinner would be in order, with maybe a small gift such as a nice desk clock or picture frame for his family.  If it's a group effort, maybe you could spring for a new brief case or a gift certificate to a restaurant you know he and his family like.

  6. Something for his desk, like a nice business card holder or pen set.
