  1. There is a federal program for first time homebuyers. Any proceeds for the sale are guaranteed and do not have to be repaid. The purchase period begins January 1 and the money is usualy gone by April-May. You need to begin now if you want to be in the pipeline for next years first-time homebuyer program.
