  1. try Craigslist, i saw a one made by Fender- brand new for 350$!!

  2. Gibson is usually for heavy rock.  I would stick to Fender brand, maybe a nice Telecaster or Stratocaster. Single coils create a more deep bluesy sound (Fender is known for this sound), Humbucking pickups create a Heavy rock/metal sound. My stratocaster is an HSS which means it has one humbucker and two single coils. There is a switch i can use to choose which pickups i want to use. This might be the right style for you. Goodluck and happy playing!

  3. Look at some used Paul Reed Smith guitars, I play rock, jazz, blues, etc and with PRS guitars, you can get 15+ tones out of it without ever touching the amp. The most versatile guitars ever.

  4. a guitar made by gibson or fender...gibson les paul?

  5. don't go for the fenders or gibsons if you play any jazz or reggae...

go for an ibanez, they rock and play amazing jazz stuff.

http://www.ibanez.com/splash.aspx that is the ibanez link

this is the guitar i have. and i play in a metal band, and i play jazz for a recording studio...http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=G...

oh and humbuckers create a smoother more clear cut sound (great for precise playing) the single coil pickups just aren't as clear of a sound

    hope i helped!

    help me!

  6. id say maybe a fender telecaster, i dont know a lot about fender though

  7. Donn't get a fender strat, maybe a telecastor. For jazz I'd get a Epiphone Les Paul Custom. I've got one and it's really versitile, but it was made for jazz. It comes with humbuckers not single coil pickups. The difference is humbuckers are a smoother clearer sound.
