What is a good hairstyle to make a good first impression?

I am going into high school and I want a new haircut that is fashionable that takes not much work in the morning and can still be put in a pony tail. I need to be able to put it up. Also it would really help if you could tell me whether I should curl or straighten it. Up or down. It would really help. THANKSSSSS :)
