  1. Choosing a stick is a bit more complicated when you venture off ice. Jeff makes very good points, however he didn't address the off ice issue.

There a couple of more things to think about.

What surface do you play on? If it is a wood floor, or sport court, you can use any stick on the market, just about. If it is a rougher surface such as concrete, or asphalt, you will for sure want to go with a stick that has an ABS blade to reduce wear. You can use a two piece system with an ABS blade, and your choice of shafts, or you can buy a wooden stick with an ABS blade. I would stay away from composites on rough surfaces, you will ruin an expensive stick in no time outdoors.

Flex has to do mostly with your strength instead of what shots you take, but does come into play a bit for what kind of shots you take. I prefer a 100-110 flex. I just don't like the whip of an 85, it feels weird.

I prefer Easton and CCM. I have a couple of Synergy sticks, and one Vector stick. The Vector is my favorite. It is a one piece composite. This stick has the most "feel" for the puck that I have ever used. I have been playing for 40+ years. I wish I would have bought more than one of these.... Oh well. I have used one piece, two-piece, and wooden sticks over the years. All I can say, is it is personal preference. I am far from being a pro, but in my opinion, unless you are a pro, a stick is a stick is a stick. They are all going to perform pretty much as well as the other one, with an exception here and there.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck

  2. depends on your price range. stay away from anything thats promoted as being really light (sl, se elite, s17) because they break easily and the blades fall apart. i would personally go with either the rbk sickick or the easton st, both have a very sturdy blade and are extremely light.

  3. the one i have. isnot teh best but it's pretty good. it's called the reebok 1k. it is pro lite and is stiff in terms of flex.

  4. a good stick  are the ones made of glass.

  5. I only use CCM.

  6. for roller hockey you want a two piece because the blade will crack. i like warrior sticks. and you can chose your flex.

  7. The absolute best stick is the Easton S17 stick. It's the lightest, has the best curve on a stick, and has a variety of choices for a flex. I have it (I also play on wood floors too due to a broken collarbone) and it beats anything else by miles. They show demos on the site for the product (http://www.eastonhockey.com/s17/). The only thing is it's really expensive ($210). Since you are playing roller hockey, I recomend a fuel mission stick. They're very slightly heavier but still good. I would go  with the S17 though. Truely the best out there. Good luck with your decision.

  8. i use Sherwood's cuz they r tuff and really cheap, its not to much flex but its really useful, if ur strong enough u wouldn't notice the difference between that and a composite stick

  9. You can buy lots of Woodies for the price of a composite one piece or two piece stick.

  10. Depends on your price range. if you're in the 200 dollar range there are some amazing sticks.

For anybody else I recommend an Easton two piece stick- I use the Synergy two piece, but it's the most expensive two piece they have. The Stealth 2 piece is modeled after the Stealth S5, a decent lower end stick.

If you don't have a brand preference yet, just buy the best two piece in your price range at the local pro shop. Ask the people there their opinions on each stick.

Anike, that's the lowest end stick Reebok Makes.  It doesn't even have a choice of curves...  If you're going to go with RBK you should at least get the 4k Shaft and blade.

Oh, and that's not going to be pro light either- that's marketing. Borrow a nice composite sometime and try that out. You'll be amazed at the difference.

Sorry, I missed the off ice thing.

Off ice and one piece- depends on what two piece you tried. the higher end ones like the Synergy feel like a one piece- in fact, most one pieces used to be a shaft and blade, but bonded with a chemical instead of hot glue.

However, you play on wood and the synergy has 60 dollar blades. Wood is rougher then ice, but you can still use a composite stick, but I would recommend a cheaper one. Go for the mid line sticks like the Synergy ST or such, or the CCM vector 6, or the RBK 5K or so. Bauer one50... somewhere along that line.

  11. warrior royale

  12. i use rbk kickzone on ice and roller
