I am looking for a hostel in September. We would like to have a room for 3 people for around 100EUR per night (for the whole room). We would like to be within 5km of the Louvre. I have looked on-line already but this is always risky so I would like a personal review.

  1. I've tried Kyriad hotel. It's a bit far from the Louvre but there's a train station (they call it Creme) near the hotel and it takes you to another train station near the Louvre. Kyriad serves sumptous buffet breakfast

  2. I suggest checking out www.hotelresidencedupalais.com. I stayed there and paid 53 euros a night for a double room with a private shower and balcony. It was a beautiful hotel, very clean, and the shower was new. The hotel is right next to Luxembourg Gardens (we could look down into it from our balcony). It is a bit of a walk to the Louvre (about 15 minutes to Notre Dame, and more from there to the Louvre), but you could always take a bus and I think it would be pretty quick.

The guy who runs it is very nice, and speaks pretty decent English. He even let us stay for free (on an extra mattress in the laundry room) when we accidentally showed up a night early.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

  3. Hostels in Paris are SHADY ...and expensive. I would look into budget hotels because they are going to  cost about the same as a hostel, plus you'll have your own room and shower. I really like the Hotel Tiquetonne. The rooms are small, but clean. It's located in the 2nd, so not far from the Louvre. And for 2 people a  night with shower in your room, it's 50 euros. (So 3 can't be that much more!)  They fill up fast so be sure to book soon! bon voyage!
