  1. You can try http://www.hotelbooklet.com which compares more than 30 popular hotel reservations sites and shows the cheapest rates in Montreal.

  2. Try Priceline name your price or hotwire.  Lots of 3 star choices under $100

  3. First of all, I would recommend looking for B&B or for a motel/hostel for this budget

TripAdvisor ranks Hotel de Paris among its best under $100 hotels (which does not mount a lot, all in all it is ranked in the middle of their list):

    You can also try:

    And:

  4. In the summer, you can find affordable accommodation at university dorms / residence.

In the past, I stayed at the UQAM residence on Rene Levesque. Location's good as you can walk to many places and the metro station is just a couple of blocks away and you can basically go anywhere from there.

Check also the YMCA, McGill, etc.

  5. Try looking for a motel in Brossard or Longueuil on Taschereau boulevard. It's 5 minutes away from old Montreal by car.

  6. I guess the big question is when you are going to be traveling ? in the summer you will be hard pressed to find a Hotel under $100 in Montreal.

However if you dont mind being out of town a bit you will have more choices , here is a web site that searches all the hotels in Montreal and the area around it, you will see rates and availability and reviews which can be important when seeking out budget hotels,

  7. Hey, if you don't mind communal showers, there are residences that are out for rent depending on the time of year.

I'm staying at mcgill's rvc with a close friend next month and it's $73/night (including breakfast, linen/towels, and taxes).

Another option is a hostel, they are usually $20-30/night, but you can get a private room for a little extra. always read the reviews though, b/c sometimes they aren't what htey seem.  Ie. Le sous-bois sounds good (rated in the top 10 in teh world) but i read multiple reviews that they had a great atmosphere, but alas, bedbugs...

Finally, try looking up local bed and breakfasts, they aren't quite as expensive, though they fill up quickly because they don't have that many rooms, depending on the time of the year.
