had already started a biology project but it didn't work out. Now i only have 3 weeks to get another one done and i have no idea what to do. It has to be something involving the environment, human body, animal life, plant life, etc. I am a senior in high school(AP Biology but it doesn't have to be too complicated) and i seriously need help. so any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you.

  1. Test this home remedy...  A plastic zip-lock bag, filled with water and one penny, suspended from an eave or a branch, keeps flies away.  ???Say which???  Yeah.  And there's plenty of fodder around the internet to draw from.

People generally say it works, but no one really knows why.  Sites citing "scientists" frequently mention the shape of the bags.  Perhaps the flies are scared of the reflection.  Maybe the bags look like spider webs to the flies.  Who knows?

With a few five gallon buckets, some feed (syrup and Hersheys bars?), and some variables (ziplock bags vs. glass jars, or ziplock bags vs. Halloween spider webs, or ziplock bag with penny vs. ziplock bag with no penny vs. ziplock bag with goldfish vs. no bag at all), it could be a fun experiment.

    Good luck.
