What is a good jet ski to get started with?

I am looking to buy my first jet ski. what is a good one that will not cost me an arm and a leg?

The first thing I'd look into is doing a couple of rentals; I'd rather learn on rental equipment than my own.

Dale's Jet Sports in Garland, Tx should be able to make a good match for you. Sherman Power Sports in Sherman, Tx should also be able to make a good recomendation for you. Google both, they have e-mail contacts and 800 phone numbers.

My personal preference are a friend's Honda Aquatrax. They have 4 stroke, turbo charged engines, (no need to mix oil into the gas,) and launch like a rocket. 65 mph across the water is exhillerating, (wow! how did I get to the dam so quick?)

Unfortunately, those cost about as much as my Jeep.

Talk to Dale's and Sherman Power Sports, make a couple of rentals and head to E-bay with the knowledge they can give you.  Dale's deals in nothing but PWC's, I'm certain you'll get a good answer from them.
