  1. First you have to know what a 16 year old is legally able to do in a job.

    Do you need working papers?

My first thought was car wash, wiping cars, detailing, vacuuming them out. Also, your job would require you to work after school, and again you have to find out how many hours you can work at night also.

  2. Let's see. I'm 16, and I have applied at a bunch of retail stores. Here are some:

    TJ maxx

    Toys R Us

    Jcpenneys

    Rack Room Shoes

    Cvs

    Rite Aid

    Target

    Wal-Mart

    Sears

    Gap

    And basically, most shoe stores.

    Just call around and ask.

  3. The best job I've ever had was when I was 16...work at a movie theater. It's ideal if the theater isn't owned by a major chain, but if it is that's ok too. Make sure that the town/city you live in isn't too large and your co-workers aren't all adults that can't hack a real world career. If you're in a city at all like the one I grew up in you should have high school aged co-workers, college age managers and lots of scheduling flexibility. You don't have to get up early, you get to work late if you want, weekends are optional and you get to see movies for free. The pay isn't great, but the responsibility is minimal.

Another suggestion: Golf course attendant or fitness facility staff member.

  4. Retail

babysitting, mowing lawns, walking people's dogs
