  1. I am also interested in a job working with special needs children. One job is a teahcer (which is what I want to be) although special education teachers tend to get moved around from school to school alot. Another, if you really want to do alot, is mabey starting a program, camp, or daycare for children with special needs. You may also want to be a doctor who speciaalizes with special needs children. Mabey even a lawyer for there rights. There are alot of things you could do. This is just a few that I could think of. Good luck!

  2. A fantstic job that I did 2 years ago was I was a special education teacher in a public school. I gave students who needed it guidence and had special groups where they would come in and work on regular school work and projects. It was a very fun job and very interesting! Takes alot of college education to be able to get this type of career

  3. Service oriented jobs such as Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Speech Language Pathologist, Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist, para professional in Special education and Special Education Director  are some of the examples of persons  employed by school systems working in different capacities with students identified as having special needs.

There are also preschool classes for identified students and different job descriptions for the Special Education Teacher working in specific environments like pull-out resource, inclusion, classes for the emotionally disturbed etc.,

There are many options for you.

  4. Special ed attorney. The country is in desperate need of these attorneys because of the rampant corruption of special ed in public schools in the US.

  6. There are many such jobs, as others have noted. But with the uptick in autism spectrum diagnoses, and with many schools recognizing that they need to provide services in-house to these kids, I would think that any background in the autism services field would make a person highly employable. This would include applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapists who work mostly one-on-one with individual kids, as well as speech therapists, special educators, and board-certified behavior analysts who are often hired to oversee autism services.
