What is a good lense?

I have a nikon D50 and i would like to get a new lense for it. Right not i have a 75-300mm. I want a maybe a 500-600. I use it mostly for wildlife. Any ideas of what would be good?

Why don't you just get a 2x lens converter which you can probably get for less than $100 bucks.

Well be prepared to sell your car because it will cost you a ton. The Nikkor 500mm F4 $7,899.00

Nikkor 600mm F4 VR $9,499.00

If those are to rich for your blood Sigma makes a 500mm F4.5 for $4,700

Look for an older Nikkor 500 mm f/8 mirror lens.  You can find them for under $300.
