I'm a Special Ed teacher looking for a good end of the year Field Trip. We went to the LA Zoo last year and the Ca Science Center this year. I was looking into the Autry Museum, but I was hoping someone had some other ideas that would be fun for my group.

  1. The Southwest Museum is off the northbound 110 at Ave 43. They have a fine collection of American Indian artifacts, clothing, jewelry, and textiles. It is a relatively short tour, and may be a bit easier to digest than the longer tour at the Autry Museum. It's also fun to take the elevator from the bus parking up to the museum, as it is accessed by a long hall (well-lit) into the mountain.

You may want to visit Travel Town and the carousel at Griffith Park, or the Griffith Observatory.

Pierce College used to have a small agriculture program with an animal husbandry facility-- it's worth looking into, particularly in the spring with the baby animals.

That should keep them busy for a while!

  2. Hi i was a summer camp helper and we went to sixflags for our big trip. The kids loved it. But for the history and knowledge of the American Indians i would say Aurty National Center. Or if its just for fun mabe Universal Studios.
