I am 6'4"(192cm), 37, about 200 lbs (90k), mildly experienced (surfed in grad school in Australia 4 years ago a number of times), the surf is small to medium (Miyazaki, Japan), and I am not looking for high performance surfing, just a nice time. I hope it is enough details.

  1. get a 9'0" robert august "what i ride" model or a 9'0" stewart Hydroglide

  2. http://www.islesurfboards.com/index.asp?... this is a good size and quality board

  3. If you plan on surfing on a regular basis, invest in a real surfboard. There are surf shops in japan, that sell most of the big name, traditionally manufactured surfboards. I enjoy longboarding, because the glide is great in those little waves that are SO common every where. I like Harbour and Stewart, but Bing is good also. If you  plan to get into it, don't waste your money on a popout, buy a decent board. Almost any 9' plus board will do. I'm 5'10" 215 and my long board is 9'4" on a 2 3/4" blank. Think 'thick', the thicker the board, the more buoyant it is.
